Let's hope for a quick Di Ianni settlement
By Andrew Dreschel

“There is simply no advantage to anyone who doesn't have a political axe to grind in stringing this out any further.” Perhaps,
the words integrity, honesty and graft are the real issues. Di Ianni’s denial, anger and depression seem to tied to the fact of
being caught. With respect, an almost two years of attempting to seal said information form the public, two years of denial.
To dismiss this, with the contention that only someone having a political axe to grind, is contempt for justice, integrity, and
a flavored disregard for transparency and supports political corruption.

This is more than about Di Ianni, it’s about the sanctuary of office. While considering such, here in Hamilton there is a need
to recognize that among contributors, one of such, launched a threat toward a City Councilor, our Honorable Mayor remains
silent on this issue.

The long an short of the situation, “come Aug. 15, Di Ianni's acknowledgment of responsibility would be read into the record
and the charges withdrawn.” would be a display of mockery, reinforcing that such actions are perceived as trite and that the
rule of law is mitigated within the political arena.

If Hamilton intends to stand above the decay of the downtown a foundation of integrity is paramount-

“And the lights are all on, the world is watching now
People looking for truth, we must not fail them now
Be sure, before we close our eyes
Dont walk away from here....”by Phil Collins
